Major Gujarat Holidays 2020

Makar Sankranti is the first Hindu festival in the calendar year and is celebrated either on 14 or 15 January every year. The festival marks the transition of the Sun from Sagittarius to Capricorn. Republic Day, a national holiday, is celebrated in the same month as well on 26.

The day honors the establishment of the Indian constitution. In 2020, Holi, a popular Hindu festival, falls on 10 March Tuesday. The festival is called the Festival of Colors and is celebrated in several parts of the country.

On 14 April every year, we celebrate B R Ambedkar Jayanti to honor the birthday of the creator of Indian constitution.

In August 2020, the two notable festivals:

Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan are celebrated on 03rd August. Independence Day honors the freedom from the United Kingdom whereas Raksha Bandhan strengthens the relationships between brothers and sisters.  It falls on 15th August, Saturday.

Muharram, a famous Islamic festival, is celebrated in 2020 on 30 August. Finally, Christmas Day, a major Christian festival, this year falls on Friday, 25th December.
