NSE Holidays 2020

The National Stock Exchange is an Indian stock exchange. NSE is the first stock exchange to introduce the computerized trading system in the country. In the year 1994, the exchange started its operations. World Federation of Exchanges recognized it to be the largest stock exchange in terms of yearly equity trading turnover. The exchange provides a fully integrated digital trading module consisting of data feed offerings, technology-oriented services, settlement and clearing services, online trading services, services for financial literacy, etc.

NSE or National Stock Exchange is open on the weekdays from Monday to Friday and is closed on Saturday and Sunday, except any special trading sessions are announced. Here’s the complete list of NSE for 2020.

NSE Products

NSE offers a list of huge gamut of products. To make the process easier, the products offered by NSE may be clubbed into 4 categories. 

They include capital markets, trackers, debt instruments and derivatives. Derivatives of NSE consist of stock derivatives, currency derivatives and NSE bond futures. The products, which are traded in the capital market via NSE include stocks, mutual funds and exchange-traded funds (ETFs), offer for sale and indices. Debts consist of corporate bonds and NSE EBP. The trackers of NSE consist bank nifty, India VIX and overseas indices.

NSE Trading Schedule

Pre-open Timings to Trade Equities

  • The entry of modifications and orders begin at 9:00 a.m. on all business days.
  • The entry of modifications and orders begin at 09:08 a.m. on all business days.

Regular Trading Timings to Trade Equities

  • Regular market (restricted physical market-space) commences at 09:15 a.m. on all business days.
  • Regular market (restricted physical market-space) closes at 3:30 p.m. on all business days.

Block deal session timings

  • Morning block deal window will operate from 08:45 a.m. to 09:00 a.m.
  • Afternoon block deal window will operate from 02:05 p.m. to 2:20 p.m.

Note: The session of trading may be closed anytime between 15.40 p.m. and 16.00 p.m. The stock exchange retains the right to restrict or advance its trading timings.
