The Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana is a flagship scheme launched by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. The main objective of this skill certification scheme is to allow a large number of India and youth to take up industry-relevant skill training that will help them in securing a better livelihood. The individuals with prior learning or skills are also assessed and certified under the Recognition of Prior Learning(RPL).

Who all are eligible to apply under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana?

  • A person should be a resident of India.
  • Should be unemployed youth, or a drop out of a school or college
  • Must have a valid Aadhaar Card and PAN card
  • In case offering an alternate identity proof, it should be verifiable. It is applicable only in the states of the North-East region and Jammu and Kashmir.
  • Any other criteria, as defined by the SSCs for the respective job roles.
  • College students are not allowed to get enrolled under this PMKVY scheme.  Additionally, in the case of corporates or factory premises, candidates cannot be their employees or daily wagers.

Nature of Assistance

The scheme is aiming to:

  • Encouraging standardization in the certification process and at the same time initiating a process of creating a registry of skills.
  • Enabling and mobilizing a large section of Indian Youth for enrolling themselves in the skill training. It helps them in becoming employable and earning the livelihood. Apart from that, it will also increase the productivity of the existing workforce and align the training and certification of the needs of the country.
  • All the rewards candidates are getting skill training from the authorized institutions at an average monetary reward of Rs 8000 to each of the candidates.
  • To avail of benefit to 24 Lakh youth at an approximate total cost of Rs 1500 Crore.

  • Now, you will see the option of Skill India from this option. You have to click on this option.
  • After this, you will see the option of Register as a Candidate. You have to click on this option.
  • The application form page will be displayed on the screen.
  • Now enter the required like basic Details, second location details, third preferences of training Sector, fourth associated program, and fifth is Interested In, etc.
  • Click on Submit Button for the final submission of the application.
