How to link Aadhaar with LPG

All Indian citizens are obligated to link their Aadhaar number to LPG Gas Connection to receive the subsidy offered by the government. If you use an LPG connection, you can get the subsidy directly into your bank account by linking your Aadhaar to your connection. However, before linking your Aadhaar to a gas account, make sure that your Aadhaar should have already been linked to your bank account. Only then, you will be able to link it with your gas connection. Check the process below to link your Aadhaar with LPG.

What are the steps to link Aadhaar to LPG connection?

Through online mode: Following steps explain the procedure to link your Aadhaar to LPG gas connection.

Step 1: Visit the website of Remote Aadhaar Seeding Framework (RASF) and enter the required information.

Step 2: Select the Benefit Type as “LPG” to link your Aadhaar Card to LPG connection. Then you will have to mention the Scheme Name according to your LPG connection, for example, “BPCL” for Bharat Gas connections and “IOCL” for Indane gas connection.

Step 3: Select the Distributor name from the drop-down list and enter your LPG consumer number.

Step 4: Enter your mobile number, email address and Aadhaar number and then click the “Submit” button.

Step 5: Once you click on submit, you will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number and email ID which needs to be entered and submitted to complete the process.

Step 6: After successful registration, the details will be verified by the concerned authority and the notification will be sent to your registered mobile number as well as email ID.

Through submitting Aadhaar-LPG link application to the distributor: To link Aadhar to LPG, the application can be submitted to the distributor through the following steps:

Step 1: Subsidy application form can be downloaded from the respective websites of Bharat Gas, HP Gas, Indane or another LPG provider.

Step 2: After taking a print-out of the form, enter all the necessary details.

Step 3: Now, visit the nearest LPG distributor office and submit your application form.

Through Call Centre: Linking of Aadhaar with LPG connection can be done by calling call centre number at 18000-2333-555 and following the instructions provided by the operator.

Link Aadhaar-Gas Connection by Post: To link your Aadhaar to gas connection via post, you will need to download the required form by visiting the official website and fill it in before submitting it along with the required enclosures to the address provided in the form.

Through The Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS): Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) is another option using which you can link your Aadhaar card to LPG gas connection. Every LPG service provider has developed an IVRS to help users link their Aadhaar Card. Each district has a different IVRS code and you will be able to find it on the gas company’s company website.

For Bharat Gas customers: If you are using a Bharat Gas connection, visit the official website at www.ebharatgas.com/pages/Customer_Care/CC_IVRSInfo.html and make a call through IVRS to further process the linking.

For HP Gas customers: If you are using an HP Gas connection, you need to visit the official website at Hindustanpetroleum.com/hp anytime to link your Aadhaar to the HP gas connection. After that customers can make IVRS calls and follow the instruction by the operator to further complete the process.

Through SMS: You can also link your Aadhaar number to an LPG gas connection via using an SMS service. You need to send an SMS to your LPG service provider to initiate the process. Firstly, you need to register your mobile number with your LPG distributor and then send an SMS from your registered mobile number.

How to Link Your Aadhaar Card to LPG Connection for PAHAL?

Under this scheme called PAHAL, the subsidy amount is directly transferred to the bank account of the customer. However, to ensure that the right people are receiving the amount of subsidy in their bank accounts, they need to link their LPG connection number to their Aadhaar number. This can be done both online and offline.

How to Become Eligible for a Subsidy on LPG?

To avail subsidy on LPG gas connection, a user must provide his/her declaration of income. According to the government directive, LPG subsidy shall not be made available to LPG consumers, if the taxable income of the individual or his or her spouse is higher than Rs. 10,00,000 during the previous financial year, as per the Income Tax Act, 1961.

Another important point that needs to be noted is that the LPG connection should be in the name of the individual who is availing the subsidy. Also, the person who has the LPG connection needs to have a bank account which is in his or her name. If there isn’t one, then it is important to open a bank account right away.
