Umang app for EPF
If you are facing any difficulty in accessing your EPF account, the UMANG app can be the right solution for you. The UMANG i.e. (Unified Mobile Application for New Age Governance) app was launched by the Modi government that provides one-stop access to numerous government services including easy tracking of your EPF account. This application is available in Hindi, English, and other multiple regional languages.
How to download the Umang App?
To download the Umang app on your Android phone, go to Google Play Store and type Umang. Click on install and wait for the app to be downloaded. After that, proceed to launch the app download and register for the service. The Apple users can install the app from the Apple App Store.
How to set up/register Umang App using mobile number
Step 1: First, download the Umang app from Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
Step 2: Then, launch the app and click on the option ‘New User’.
Step 3: On the ‘Registration’ screen, fill your mobile number, and click on ‘Proceed’. You will see the mobile number verification screen.
Step 4: Now, enter the OTP and proceed to set MPIN. Type MPIN and click ‘Confirm MPIN’.
Step 5: Now, choose the ‘Proceed’ option and answer the security question and continue.
Step 6: Now, enter Aadhaar number if you want to link it or click ‘Skip’ to move on to the ‘Profile Information Screen’, where you need to enter your profile details and click on the option ‘Save & Proceed’.
Step 7: This completes the registration process and you will be redirected to the home screen.
How to use the Umang App?
Step 1: Firstly, download the Umang app from Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
Step 2: Then, create your ‘Profile’ by providing your personal details such as name, mobile number, and age. There, you will also get an option to upload your profile photo.
Step 3: You can also link your Aadhaar number to the app and other social media accounts.
Step 4: After creating the profile, you can log in and go to the ‘Sort & Filter’ section to browse through the services and categories.
Step 5: Go to the search option to look for the services.
EPF services which you can access via the UMANG app-
Once you enter the EPFO section in the UMANG app, these are the following categories of services that you can avail of-
Employee Centric Services
- In this section, the members can check the balance in their EPF account and have a look at the passbook.
- You can also raise fresh claims and track the present status of the claims which you have raised earlier.
Employer Centric Services
Any employer who is registered under EPFO can get the details of EPF contributions in the concerned financial year by using its establishment ID.
Generic services
- In this section, you can search for the details of any establishment registered under EPFO by providing details like the establishment name or code.
- If you are looking for an EPFO office in any area, you can also search that with the name of the state and the district of that area.
- You can get the details of your EPF account on SMS or by giving a missed call on 011-22901406 from your registered mobile number.
