Major Gujarat Holidays 2023

Makar Sankranti is the first Hindu festival in the calendar year and is celebrated either on the 14 or 15 January every year. The festival marks the transition of the Sun from Sagittarius to Capricorn. Republic Day, a national holiday, is celebrated in the same month as well on the 26.

The day honors the establishment of the Indian constitution. In 2023, Holi, a popular Hindu festival, falls on 29 March Monday. The festival is called the Festival of Colors and is celebrated in several parts of the country.

On 14 April every year, we celebrate B R Ambedkar Jayanti to honor the birthday of the creator of the Indian constitution.

In August 2023, the two notable festivals:

Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan are celebrated on 22 August. Independence Day honors freedom from the United Kingdom whereas Raksha Bandhan strengthens the relationships between brothers and sisters.  It falls on 15th August, Sunday

Muharram, a famous Islamic festival, is celebrated in 2022 on 19 August.

Finally, Christmas Day, a major Christian festival, this year falls on Saturday, 25th December.
