Maharana Pratap Jayanti

Maharana Pratap Jayanti is celebrated to remember the Rajput king of Mewar, Maharana Pratap Singh. He was a true patriot who commenced the first war of independence. He fought alongside Akbar who is one of the popular Mughal Emperors in the battle of Kalighat. He fought the battle for long 4 years, and he killed many opponents on the battlefield which has earned him the respect and honour among us. His birth anniversary is celebrated as Maharana Pratap Jayanti every year on the third day of the Jyeshta Shukla phase which is the third month in the Hindu calendar.

How is Jayanti celebrated?

In remembrance of Maharana Pratap Singh, special puja and rituals are performed. Even special debates and cultural events are also held in many parts of the country. Many people also visit his statue which is in Udaipur to celebrate his birthday.
