Change Pan Card Address

Online an individual can easily  request PAN Card address change. All an individual is needed to download the ‘Change Request Form’ from the official website of NSDL and fill all the required details. One needs to keep in mind that all changes and corrections can be made to PAN card only after allotment of PAN Number to an individual.

Steps to make changes in address in PAN Card via online:

Step 1

Visit the official NSDL website.

Step 2

Keep scrolling to the bottom of the page until you see an option called ‘Select the Category of the Applicant’.

Step 3

Choose the following category from the drop-down menu before hitting ‘Select’:

  • Individual
  • Partnership Firm
  • Association of Persons
  • Body of individual

Step 4

Fill in all the required details in the PAN address change form, such as name, father’s name, gender, date of birth, etc.

Step 5

Check the boxes beside the field to which you wish to make a change. You PAN Number will have to be entered in the relevant box, and if you wish to choose a paperless route for change in address. Online you get an option’ For Paperless PAN application’. Applicant needs to select that.

Once you select the paperless route, you will have to upload

  • Photographs
  • Documents
  • Signature online
  • Eliminating the need to physically furnish the documents for a change in address.

STEP 6

If you  are choosing the traditional route to make changes in PAN Card, then select ‘NO’ on the field says, ‘For Paperless PAN Application’.

STEP 7

After filling the PAN card form for change in PAN Card address, you will receive a PAN Acknowledgment form which comes with a 16-digit acknowledgment number. You must take a printout of the same for future reference.

STEP 8

We need to attach two recent passport size photographs in the space provided on the form of acknowledgment along with the inserting of the signature.

STEP 9

After you finished with the PAN Card address change form filling, cheque or demand draft to be enclosed along with the acknowledgment form with self-attested documents in an envelope. When you are making a cheque or demand draft, please mentioned in the PAN Card number on the back of the cheque and demand draft.

STEP 10

At the envelope, write ‘Application for PAN CHANGE REQUEST – Acknowledgment Number’ as the heading.

STEP 11

Send the envelope by post to NDSL at Income Tax PAN Services Unit, NSDL e-Governance Infrastructure Limited, 5th Floor, Mantri Sterling, Plot No.341, Survey No.997/8, Model Colony, Near Deep Bungalow Chowk, Pune – 411016.

STEP 12

The envelope must reach the NSDL address with 15 days from the date on which you received the acknowledgment.

STEP 13

Once the NSDL receives your application, it will start the processing and you will receive an email regarding the same on your registered email ID.

How to check the status of an address change in PAN Card?

  • To check the status of an address change in the PAN Card application, he or she needs to log on to the website for PAN, TIN- NSDL.
  • The next step is to visit  the section of PAN on the website to track the status of their address change application on the page.
  • The application needs to choose ‘Address change application’ and after that need to provide a few details such as name and date of birth along with the acknowledgment number.
  • After providing the required information,  an applicant will be directed to a page that provides them the current status of their PAN Card address change application.
